Hello everyone. Well, after much prayer - and too much emotion - I have made my decision: It's not God's will for me to become a religious at this time, so I will be attending FUS this upcoming Fall.
Thank you all for the prayers, I can't tell you how much they meant to me.

Keep 'em coming!
Dear readers,
Thanks for all the prayers, I really appreciate them. As for my computer, we were informed that all the documents and pictures will be saved! So thank you Lord for answering those prayers.
As for my discernment: PRAY! I attended the retreat, but I'm going through some emotional and spiritual turmoil right now in regards to my vocation. So please pray some more for me.
Thanks,
Vicki

Apology
I want to apologize to all of you for not completing the WFHS. You see, my computer has decided to fail me. We think it's a malware virus; I can't even get to my desktop. So, I will complete the last day of WFHS when my computer is fixed.
Please pray for that they can fix my computer without clearing it, because all of my pictures from the past years - pictures of Camp, the Father Daughter Ball, Regency Ball, FT get-together and family members and events - and all my school documents (completed and not completed) are on there, and I don't have them saved anywhere else. So prayers would be appreciated.
Secondly, please pray for my discernment, that I may discover what God wants of me. I'm having a hard time with the whole thing right now, and my retreat is this Saturday. Thanks guys!

WFHS: Day 6
Today’s hairstyle: The Swizzle
History: I invented this hair style at Camp and it has become a favorite of mine. There are a few variations of this hairstyle that I like to do; however, I don’t have pictures of all of them. One of them is the Swizzle half way down the head, and curling the other half of the hair that is left down. If I ever pictures of this one I’ll post them because it’s really petty.
Instructions: Um…let me see if I can give these coherently:
You start off with a lace braid head band (also known as the Princess Braid).
Instead of finishing the braid off when you reach the other side of the head, you curve it and continue to lace braid.
You keep this pattern up until you have braided all the hair. Now you have two options: 1) you can finish it off with a braid and tuck it under the bottom lace braid – securing it with mini clips or bobby pins (see picture #1) – or 2) you can wrap it into a bun (see picture #2).
I hope these instructions made sense.
Enjoy!

WFHS: Day 5
Today's hairstyle: A regency up-do, demonstrated on my sister Hannah.
Instructions: Go to this website.
It didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it, because her hair was a little short. However, I was pleased with the over all effect.

WFHS: Day 4
Today's hair style: Dutch braid half way down, with a crocheted rose barrett (a present from Yaviel).
The only difference between a dutch braid and french braid is that you cross the hair under instead of over; this gives it the look that the braid is sitting on top of the head. Finish the braid off at the base of the neck with a rubber band. You can add a barrett if you want.

WFHS: Day 3
Today's hair style: The diagonal french braid with bun.
Instructions: Uh...do a diagonal french braid and wrap it into a bun. *shrugs* Go to this post on Claire's blog for more info on this hair style.
*Note: I used mini clips, but bobby pins work as well.

WFHS: Day 2
Today we have the crown. However, this is a unique crown, due to the fact that there is no french braiding involved! It is very easy to accomplish.
Tools: Hair brush, long thin ribbon, a large/long plastic needle, rubber band, clips, long hair, and decorative barrette (optional).
Directions: This YouTube site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqbAdvL8kME&feature=related (Note: The lady giving the demonstration does wear a low cut top, and takes God's name in vain once.)

My outfit consists of a white/green/blue scarf I received for my last birthday, a white peasant blouse, a purple sweater I got for Christmas, and my favorite denim skirt from Hannah Lise.
My jewelry is a medal of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which I received from my eighth grade graduation...I don't even remember what year that was. :P

More for WFHS
To begin with, I would like to thank everyone who has already signed up to participate, and would urge you to spread the news! Let other young ladies know about this event.
At the suggestion of Claire, "it would be even better if a couple of feminine outfits (to match the hair) were thrown in here and there." So, if you would like to do that, please do so! I will be posting two or three outfits to go with my hairdos.
Secondly, I would urge you ladies to post directions and/or where you got the hairstyle from. For instance, if you post a hair style you got off of YouTube, you would post the pictures of your hair and the YouTube link that has the directions.
Thirdly, I was asked if I knew of any blogs or websites that have instructions on hair styles. My answer: Yes! Here are some of my favorites:
http://historicalhair.blogspot.com/
http://lily-maiden.blogspot.com/2007/08/long-ago-promised-post-on-hairbraiding.html
http://feelinfeminine.com/?p=3797
http://intimelyfashion.com/hair/main.html
http://dressytresses.com/hair/gallery/default.asp
http://www.hairbraidingbyellen.com/
http://www.braidedimage.com/Braided_Image_Hair_Braiding/Home.html
http://www.tressesentwined.com/styles.html
That should be enough to get you started :)
Lastly, my talented sister Hannah decided to "fix up" my WFHS pictures. As you can see they are much more professional than my humble attempts. :P So, feel free to use these:

I was thinking...
Claire over at Lily Maiden is doing a Week in Feminine Dress, which I absolutely love; however, I tend to wear very – and I mean very – casual clothes all week. For example my daily outfit consists of my long denim skirt, my one and only pair of jeans, or my sweat pants, combined with a sweatshirt to accompany it. So, I wouldn’t really be fully participating in the “feminine” part of the week.
Yet, Claire – unknowingly – gave me the idea to hold a hold a brand new type of week: Week in Feminine Hair Styles. :D I love hair, and I love finding new styles; so, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to inspire and learn from each other in the area of hair. ;)
What: Week in Feminine Hair Styles
When: February 7-13
Where: On your blog!
How: Every day starting next Monday, post a picture of how you are wearing your hair for the day – OR – you can do like I’m doing and start taking pictures of your hair in different styles, and then post one every day next week.
Also, leave a comment letting me know if you are going to participate, and the day before the WFHS, I will post the links to everyone’s blogs.
In addition, I'll post some pictures that you can post on your blog to show that you are participating in the WFHS. If you would, please attach the link for this post to the picture.
Why: To promote femininity in a revolutionized way: through hair! ;)
