Thoughts regaurding NBC's coverage of the March for Life

Although msnbc covered the March (finally), it's so sad that their unwavering bigotry is still present.

1) NBC does not use the title “pro-life” but refers to the marchers as “anti-abortion” or “abortion opponents.” The use of the words “anti” and “opponents” can set the reader in a negative frame of mind towards the marchers and their mission. They twist words in order to present it from their point of view, instead of using the simple truth in conveying - what is supposed to be - unbiased news.

2) NBC also down plays the actual, massive size of the March by saying “tens of thousands ” –instead of hundreds of thousands, and “…weather likely kept this year's numbers down a bit.” I personally attended the March last year and this year, and I think everyone would agree that despite the horrible weather, this was the biggest turnout yet. Even to the point that it hindered the organization of the March, due to this massive amount of people in attendance.

3) The fact that the liberal media continue to present Romney as the “Republican frontrunner” is quite interesting. Especially since they label him this after the fact that he lost the primaries in South Carolina to Newt Gingrich the Saturday before the March, and (yes, it is true) in Iowa to Rick Santorum. Also, his polls numbers have declined. I just find it so interesting that they put his name (and no other presidential candidate) in an article regarding the March for Life and not the elections.

4) Lastly, (I find this very amusing and very sly of NBC) the only marchers that they interviewed were 50+ years old. Doesn’t this subconsciously give the reader a mental image that the streets of DC are packed with a more mature crowd? When in fact, it is just the opposite! The majority of the marchers are YOUTH, ranging anywhere from middle school to college! A young generation proud to stand for LIFE and ready to take on the future for the sake of the unborn.

Does anyone agree with this?

School, future plans, and dreams

I've been having a lot of thoughts (and prayers) lately about - for a lack of better words - my future. I have exactly two Geometry Tests and a research report on Roe v. Wade to finish and I am officially finished with high school forever! Along with the knowledge that I will be signing up for fall classes at the local community college soon, I've wondered if I really want to major in Early Childhood Ed. I just have this feeling that I want to do something more meaningful with my life. I mean let's face it, Early Childhood Education is not exactly the most exciting thing out there.

I played around with the idea to photography, because over the past months I have become infatuated with wedding and graduation photo shoots. I love them! However, I have absolutely no experience with this field of work and it is not something that you can really live off of unless you are really good.

The other majors that I have somewhat of an interest in is Theology, Philosophy, and maybe Politics (yeah I know, I'm weird). However, there are not a lot of profitable job opportunities in Theology and Philosophy unless you want to teach and that usually requires a PhD, and I am not doing that!

I had the craziest idea last night while I was lying in bed. You see, I love to plan, organize, and administrate events. It's so much fun! So as this dreamer had the idea to form an organization that would focus on evangelizing -so to speak - on three things dear to her heart: The Eucharist, the pro-life movement, and feminine modesty. Additionally, she even thought of patron saints for each topic, a boy and girl saint for each. She continued to dream of how awesome it would be to hold a national conference every year that would have have three sections - one for every topic - and have top Catholics from around the US to speak on them. And I mean big names! Like Father Frank Pavone (for pro-life), Colleen Hammond (modesty), and Scott Hann (the Eucharist). Then this crazy girl went even further to say, "Hey! To go along with modesty, we can have a section of chivalry for the guys! Then we could have someone like Doug Barry come and speak to them!"

Yeah. I got kind of carried away, but it was so much fun dreaming about it! Then I came back to reality that 1) there are soooo many groups/organizations popping up all over the place that are aimed at youth and young adults that it would be ridiculous to start another one; 2) I don't know how to start one; 3) I'm still in high school! :P So yeah, not happening.

Well, I think that's enough rambling for today.

Oh! One more thought: did anyone watch the first Republican Presidential debate on Fox News last night? It was so much fun. I am so voting for Rick Santorum! He's Catholic, conservative, has 7 kids, and is pro-life!

March For Life

I'm going! I'm going! I didn't think I was going to go this year, but God worked it out. :) There is a young adult group in our Diocese that I am starting to attend and last week's meeting there was a sign up sheet for the March. I was sooooooo happy! The schedule is awesome, too, because Father Jeff wants to make this a pilgrimage, not just a sight seeing tour.

Our Schedule:

Saturday 22nd - 7:30am Mass at the Cathedral, after Mass drive to Maryland

Sunday 223rd - 9am Mass at the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Shrine, tour D.C., and then attend Mass again at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

Monday 24th - 9:00am Mass at National Shrine of the Lourdes Grotto, and then the March For LIFE!!!!! After the March we will drive home and get there very, very late.

Are any of you going to the March? Leave a comment and let me know. Oh, and I will be wearing a lime green scarf that has some yellow and blue in it. ;)

Question for Pro-Choice Feminists

You may or may not be aware of the political battle being fought right now by Feminist and pro-choice Barbra Boxer and pro-life Carly Fiorina. These two women are battling for the California seat in the Senate.

In a recent post or email (I'm not sure which), EMILY's List - a pro-abortion organization that is supporting Boxer - stated:

When it comes to our issues -- from women's rights to the environment to health care -- Barbara has been at the forefront of change since we helped elect her in 1992, the "Year of the Woman." She's been there for us every step of the way, and now it's our chance to return the favor.

Thanks for all you're doing to help our women fight back and continue making change.

Stop.

Here is my question to all feminists and Barbra Boxer: You say you fight for the woman...have you ever given any thought to the little unborn woman? Think of all the thousands of little women that you could support. What about them? If you love and support the female sex as much as you claim to, why don't you try to defend it instead of destroy it?!

The ignorance and arrogance of these feminists just infuriates and blows my mind away. I guess you have to be a Survivor '73 in order to be worth defending in our society.

Remember: Patriotism defends life.

Urgent Action Needed!

Before I post anything related to LOTR Week, I must bring this to your attention:

Please ask Father Jenkins at Notre Dame to drop the charges against 88 pro-life advocates who face up to one year in jail and thousands of dollars in fines.

Sign the "Drop the Charges" petition

The 88 outspoken pro-lifers peacefully walked onto Notre Dame's campus in May to be the voice of the unborn -- when pro-abortion president Obama was honored there – and were arrested for trespassing.

Among those arrested were Fr. Norman Weslin, several nuns, Norma McCorvey, the "Jane Roe" of Roe v. Wade, and Ambassador Alan Keyes.

Lifesitenews.com reports: "While witnesses say pro-Obama protesters were allowed to roam free, the arrested individuals were singled out for displaying any pro-life message -- including slogans on the sanctity of life, photographs of aborted children, a large wooden cross, and images of Mary."

The double standard is rather shocking, isn't it?

You see, the University of Notre Dame, as the original complainant, has the choice to drop the charges pending against the 88 pro-lifers.

So kindly ask Notre Dame to drop the charges – sign here

Your signature is very important right now because, according to reports, the president of the University of Notre Dame "has repeatedly refused to seek such leniency or even answer the pro-lifers' requests for dialogue." (Lifesitenews.com: 09-04-09)

If you have any comments, please send them along.

Until next time, thank you very much for joining this urgent petition and feel free to pass it along, post it on Facebook, on blogs, and help get the word out.

This is outrages and embarrassing that a Catholic University is arresting pro-life supporters!!! It just blows me away. Let's do what we can to help those arrested, and show our disapproval. Please send in your petition (even if you aren't a Catholic) and pass this along, for the sake of life! Thank you.
